May 2009: Energy Show Ireland 2009
icis had a very successful stand at the SEI Energy Show in the RDS this April '09. With a registration count on our stand of over 150 individuals and companies we'd like to thank all who came by and took the time to see icis Plant Energy Software in action.

January 2009: Oracle / Proficy Plant Batch Reporting
icis were recently awarded a new validated custom Batch Reporting application in partnership with a leading Automation vendor for a major blue chip multi-national. The icis application will be built into the sites IFIX SCADA front end and will utilise data from a plant wide Oracle database and Proficy Historian. Allowing full report configuration on a per unit bases the application will take the sites batch reporting in to a new Electronic phase.

December 2008: Site Power Analysis Application Role-Out
icis have recently deployed and trained out its custom power consumption and analysis application for a major blue chip multi-national. This new tool based on the icis EMS application provides users with detailed information on the sites power consumption, usage and cost. Linking into the sites OSI-PI Data Historian and retrieving information from the Honeywell BMS and Delta V control system, the application performs customised power calculations on both metered and non-metered data to provide Enterprise web based Power reporting and analysis.

August 2008: Proficy Plant Batch Reporting
icis have recently completed 2 new validated custom Batch Reporting applications in partnership with an Automation vendor for a major blue chip multi-national. The icis applications were built in to the sites IFIX SCADA front end that utilised data from a Proficy Historian. Batch exception criteria was built into each Batch Report with status results passed to MES to allow for review by exception. The reporting systems now allowed for complete electronic reporting for a number of isolated VPE Skids and for a full S88 Batch production system.

March 2008: Site Water Usage Application Role-Out
icis have recently deployed and trained out a new custom water analysis application for a major blue chip multi-national. This new tool provides users with detailed information on the sites water usage and waste generation. Linking into the sites OSI-PI Data Historian and retrieving information from the Honeywell BMS and Delta V control system, the application provides Enterprise web based reporting and analysis. The system also provides for standard reporting, ad-hoc queries, web trending, system configuration and administration. Developed for version 2.0 of the .Net platform this feature rich web application allows users to quickly identify excessive water usage and waste generation, thus allowing for continued site improvements through cost reduction projects on the identified heavy users and waste generators.

January 2008: Disposition Tracker Role-Out
A custom icis Batch Disposition Tracker for a major multi-national BioTech company has been rolled out across its 3 buildings. The application developed by icis integrates the Batch information from their Paper Batch Records, LIMS and SAP Site Investigations Application. This now allows for the complete tracing of a production batch through the disposition process and highlights to the users were delays are occurring and projected time lines for Batch Disposition.

January 2008: 100% Capital Allowance on Energy Projects
Section 42 of the Irish Finance Act 2008 provides for a 100% Capital Allowance on Expenditure by a company for Energy Monitoring Software under the following definition:

“Computer-based systems, designed primarily to monitor and control building energy use with the aim of optimising energy efficiency and meeting specified efficiency standards”.

There has never been a better time to invest in monitoring and analysis software that enables you to see where your costs are arising from and to aid in energy reduction programs. Contact icis to see how our Utility applications and custom solutions can help you with your energy analysis projects.

June 2007: Cycle Time Analysis Role Out
The custom icis Batch Cycle Time Analysis application has been successfully rolled out and trained to users of a major multi-national BioTech company. The application allows Management to see plant manufacturing cycle times versus the theoretical throughput. Linking into the Emerson Delta V and OSI-PI Data Historian this Web based application provides detailed, feature rich, production graphs and results for high-level review and investigation. For further analysis the system allows for Engineers to drill down and review the fine detail of phase level information and identify whether cycle times are over-running due to operational or process issues. This enables real-time information for use in decision-making on necessary process and operational changes to improve overall efficiency.
